Biochelator Assisted Phytoremediation for Cadmium (Cd) Pollution in Paddy Field

نویسندگان

چکیده

To evaluate the efficacy of biochelators for phytoremediation cadmium (Cd), effects (humic acid, HA; polyaspartic PASP; rhamnolipid, RLs) and synthetic chelator (sodium tripolyphosphate, STPP) on growth, accumulation, antioxidant index Cd were investigated in Iris sibirica L. The results indicated that addition HA increased dry weight leaves stems, PASP, RLs, STPP growth but inhibited stems. determination accumulation decreased content all tissues, while stems roots. In addition, superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT) activities treatment PASP RLs enzymes, which might be beneficial to resistance Overall, these may improve polluted paddy field. Among tested chelators, exhibited best comprehensive highest commercial potential.

From Laboratory to Field: OsNRAMP5-Knockdown Rice Is a Promising Candidate for Cd Phytoremediation in Paddy Fields

Previously, we reported that OsNRAMP5 functions as a manganese, iron, and cadmium (Cd) transporter. The shoot Cd content in OsNRAMP5 RNAi plants was higher than that in wild-type (WT) plants, whereas the total Cd content (roots plus shoots) was lower. For efficient Cd phytoremediation, we produced OsNRAMP5 RNAi plants using the natural high Cd-accumulating cultivar Anjana Dhan (A5i). Using a po...

Phytoremediation on Air Pollution

Air pollution has been becoming a necessary evil with rapid industrialization and urbanization around the world, after it results in kinds of human health problems, such as ophthalmic, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases (Brunekreef & Holgate, 2002; Giles et al., 2011; Gudmundsson, 2011; Jamrozik & Musk, 2011; Miller et al., 2007; Nandasena, 2010). The direst threat posted by air pollution ...

Cadmium Toxicity And Its Phytoremediation A Review

Cumulative effect of urbanization, industrialization and population growth is increasing pressure on the limited natural resources. The change in living style has aggravated the problems. Among the diverse environmental problems, the discharge of heavy metals in environment through industrial, agricultural and domestic activities is of great concern. Removal of heavy metal from environment is a...

Insolubilization of cadmium in paddy field using atomized iron powder and extracting reagent.

The insolubilization of cadmium in the soil of a naturally cadmium-contaminated paddy field was studied using an atomized iron powder and an extracting reagent. Cadmium in the soil was extracted into the water phase by calcium chloride. The extracted cadmium was deposited on the iron powder. The deposition of cadmium was significantly influenced by calcium chloride, since the surface area of th...
